On the area of the test platform, competition «Unior Race» were held — competitions of «Junior» robotic cars on a special field that simulates the urban environment. The competition helped the participating teams to work out all the basic elements of software and technical solutions that can be scaled to full-size unmanned vehicles. Unmanned robotic cars «Junior» produced by Avrora Robotics were donated to the student teams by the «Volnoe Delo» Foundation due to their victory in the AutoNet 18+ category in «RoboFest-2017».
The «Volnoe Delo» Foundation and the «GAZ Group», together with the Skolkovo Foundation, hosted the RoboKross-2017 Automated Vehicle Contest in Nizhny Novgorod.
19 student teams from leading universities in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, Kovrov, Vladimir, Orenburg, Samara and St. Petersburg took part in the competition. Competitions were held at the test site of the Gorky Automobile Plant.
